The LG3 is Walther's answer to rifle clubs' problems with recruiting young people. Although it looks like a small-bore rifle, it is an air rifle which - and this is the crucial factor - is also approved for children under 12 for sport shooting. The completely new concept of the Walther LG3 is 100 % in line with the traditions of shooting sport, as there is no electronic simulation of a shot (light shooting); instead rounds are actually fired at a target. The power of the LG3 is less than 0.5 Joules, so no "F" symbol is required - so this is not a rifle that comes under the provisions of German firearms legislation. Shooting with the LG3 is therefore not subject to any age limit. Design: The LG3 Young-Star has a 25-round magazine for 6 mm round pellets. The easy-action repeater system of metal construction pre-cocks the compression spring. Aiming is with a Walther basic diopter or foresight holder just like with the"grown-up" rifles. The child-appropriate dimensions of the length-adjustable wooden stock and a weight of less than 3000 g make the LG3 the ideal beginner's rifle for introducing young people to classic shooting. Subsequent changeover to a match air rifle is easy, since the LG3 already closely matches the latter in its ergonomics and design.
