The Springfield SAR-8 in .308 was manufactured by Hellenic Arms Industry (EBO) and imported for Springfield Armory from 1990 to 1994. It is the exact HK-91 clone made with original H&K tooling. The import mark on the left side of the receiver reads “SAR-8 SPORTER / EBO GREECE / MADE IN GREECE”; this area is also marked with the serial number. The safety is marked with a “white S” and a “red F” on both sides of the receiver. The right side of the receiver is marked “SAR8 7.62MM / SPRINGFIELD ARMORY USA / GENESEO, IL”
