Manufactured with a Performance Center 5-inch barrel, the 7-shot 9mm revolver has a Patridgefront sight, adjustable rear sights, and a stainless steel frame. The revolver has a titanium alloy cylinder, which helps keep the weight of the revolver down to 34.9 ounces. The 986 also features a glass bead finish, a precision crowned barrel, cylinder cut for moonclips, comfortable synthetic grips and a lighter mainspring for an enhanced double-action trigger pull. Completing the line between main production and the Performance Center, the Smith & Wesson Pro Series represents the next step up from standard models. These firearms offer a variety of enhancements yet still remain true to “stock.” Bringing competition specifications and features to factory models, the Pro Series offer that ready-to-go package while still maintaining production line integrity.
