RPG-7V(M) Hand-held Portable Reactive Weapon cal. 40/85/105 mm

The RPG-7V(M) is a hand-held, man-portable, reusable, shoulder-launched, anti-tank rocket-propelled reactive weapon. Originally the RPG-7 weapon was designed by the Soviet Union whereby nowadays its modified and improved version is manufactured in Slovakia (EU). The launcher is reloadable and based around a steel tube, 40 mm in diameter, 950 mm long, and weighing 6,3 kg. The middle of the tube is wood wrapped to protect the user from heat and the end is flared to assist in blast shielding and recoil reduction. Sighting is usually optical PGO-7M with a back-up iron sight whereby more modern optical system SGL-7MA as well as Collimator sight PG-K are also available. The launcher is able to fire standard PG-7V 40/85mm anti-armor (HEAT) projectile, anti-personnel OG-7V 40mm HE-FRAG rounds as well as TB-7V 40/105mm (or its equivalent) modern thermobaric rounds. The rounds are launched by a gunpowder booster charge, giving it an initial speed of 130 - 140 m/s and creating a cloud of light grey-blue smoke that can give away the position of the shooter. The rocket motor ignites after 10 m and sustains flight out to 500 m at a maximum velocity of 295 m/s. The grenade is stabilized by two sets of fins that deploy in-flight: one large set on the stabilizer pipe to maintain direction and a smaller front set to induce rotation. The RPG-7VM launcher is primarily intended against soft-skinned and lightly armored targets as well as light stationary targets and MG posts.
