MSR combines lethal accuracy at 1500 meters with a user adjustable folding stock, free-float handguard, and the potential to change barrel lengths and calibers within minutes at the user level from .338 Lapua Magnum to .300 Win Mag to 7.62 NATO. This patent-pending system addresses the long range and medium range needs of the modern battlefield in one package designed to meet multiple emerging US armed forces requirements. The MSR is mission-adaptable with just a change of the bolt face, barrel, and magazine, and features lightweight, efficient design and optimal material selection for performance and corrosion resistance. FIRE CONTROL » The MSR uses the same combatproven M24 SWS trigger enhanced with the latest anticorrosion resistant coatings and with user adjustment feature removed. The trigger is set at a pull weight of 3 to 5 lbs. +/- 8 oz. MAGAZINE: Teflon coated center feed single to double stack magazines for positive feeding. Removable insert to allow greater than standard overall cartridge lengths. PRIMARY RAIL: Monolithic, MIL-STD 1913 rail available in 20, 30, and 40 MOA options, allowing a variety of day/night optics to be mounted on the same plane. Integral recoil lug distributes the load from the rail and scope evenly. Optics mounting platform is compatible with HORUS reticle equipped optics, ballistic software, PDA interfaces, night vision devices and thermal imaging devices. REMOVABLE HANDGUARD: Octagonal free-float tube design allows for eight planes of accessory rail mounting. Each accessory rail features integral recoil lugs to optimally distribute accessory loads during recoil. MSR features multiple sling attachment points, ventilation for rapid cooling, a unique cable management system, and a flat bottom for increased stability while firing. BARREL: Match grade, fluted to minimize weight and optimize heat dissipation without compromising stiffness. SUPPRESSOR: Customer specified suppressor and muzzle brake (AAC Titan recommended – eliminates 98% of muzzle flash, reduces recoil by 60%, 24.25 ounces, 9.5” long – extends 8.8” past the muzzle, 136-137 Db, POI shift <1MOA).
