The field-proven 500 pump-action platform has non-binding twin action bars, positive steel-to-steel lock-up and anti-jam elevator for smooth, reliable operation; anodized aluminum receiver for added durability, yet less overall weight and better balance; versatile vent rib ACCU-CHOKE barrel; and universally-recognized, ambidextrous top mounted safety. All features that are the backbone of the legendary 500 reputation. The Mossberg 500 Classic shotgun features upgrades that distinguish this field gun from the extensive family of 500 special purpose guns. The traditionally-styled, high-gloss walnut stock and forend has fine checkering on the pistol grip and wrapping around the underside of the forend as well as a classic red recoil pad with white Pachmayr line spacer. Distinctive jeweled bolt, gold trigger and attractive high polished blue metal finish complement the high gloss wood finish. The 28-inch vent rib barrel is ported to lessen felt recoil and reduce muzzle jump and comes with Mossberg’s interchangeable ACCU-CHOKE tubes (Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder).
