This is a length of braided, Nylon-covered stainless cable, joined in a loop. It has a length of hose on it where the sling passes through. Just loop the cable between the barrel and gas-tube cross member of the front sight base for a perfect sling hanging point. Nothing to bolt on, no sharp edges, no real estate taken that could be used for something else, and it weighs next to nothing. One of the best things about it is that when installed right, it pulls the sling out of the way when tension on the sling is released (as when picking the rifle up from slung position to shoot). Chances of the sling winding up in the way of the front sight are slight, compared to many other front attachement methods. Installing it as shown makes for a perfect top- hang point up front, letting the rifle hang flat, ready, and accessible.
