The Galil family of assault rifles consists of multipurpose personal weapons, designed to serve as the basic weapon for the infantry. The rifle is light weight; air cooled, gas operate and fed by a magazine. The Galil is a very robust weapon with high reliability in adverse and extreme conditions and has been in service with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) since its development, over 30 years ago.
