About Product

Developed by Heckler & Koch in the 1960’s, the HK11 Light Support Machine Gun (LSMG) was conceptualized to complement the successful HK G2 battle rifle.  The HK11 design was considerably derived from the G3 automatic rifle utilizing the same roller-delayed blowback operating mechanism, stationary barrel, closed-bolt firing arrangement and selective-fire trigger. The HK11 was fitted with a heavyweight barrel to meet the light support machine gun role, making it distinguishable from its HK G3 assault rifle predecessor.  Furthermore, the HK11 was chambered to fire the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge fed from detachable, box and drum-type magazines. The HK11 was introduced in conjunction with the HK21, the belt-fed machine gun counterpart to the HK11.

As with many of the HK designs, the HK11 is an effective light machine gun platform and a military success being highly versatile, relatively lightweight and easily operated by one man.  Even under semi or automatic-fire, the decidedly HK machine gun design featuring the stationary barrel and closed-bolt firing arrangement allowed for very accurate fire. The roller-delayed blowback action and the recoil-buffer unit contribute to accuracy with extremely low felt recoil and minimum muzzle climb, especially in fully automatic fire.

The effective range is about 400-650 meters against point targets and 800 meters against area targets. When mounted on a tripod, targets at even further distances may be engaged, up to 1200 meters maximum effective range. The HK11 was adopted by various special forces units in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America due to the limited weight, excellent accuracy and the ability to easily reconfigure the feeding mechanism.   By removing the magazine feed adapter and installing the belt adapter, the HK11 is quickly transformed into the HK21 (belt fed light machine gun).

The HK11 light support machine gun is a light weight yet rugged weapon capable of delivering a larger volume of sustained fire up to the maximum effective range of 1200 meters with high accuracy and reliability. Simplicity of operation and maintenance coupled with ease of carriage make the HK11 LSMG ideal for a multitude of applications and battlefield ready.
