The Jaeger 10 VSP from Haenel is a precision rifle on the borderline between sporting and hunting use. The abbreviation stands for Varmint Sporter Pro. The basis of the rifle is a compact 19-millimetre barrel and a fibreglass-reinforced synthetic stock with height-adjustable cheek piece. This feature is popular among precision marksmen and ensures an optimum firing position at all times through its capacity for adaptation to the shooter and the firing position. The straight stock with rubber gunstock pad reduces the recoil – the forces are transmitted directly to the shoulder, thus ultimately also reducing muzzle flips. A fore-end extension surrounding the fore-end serves as grip and reliable shooting position. In the standard version, the barrels have a muzzle thread for optional muzzle flash suppressors or a silencer (requires a license) that is available as an option – a cap protects the thread when not in use. Both barrels are produced in Suhl and are cold-forged on the mandrel – thus ensuring longevity and precision. The two-position safety of the rifle is handily designed behind the bolt handle – it also has a chamber lock that enables unloading of the rifle while keeping the safety on. The dry-firing direct trigger has been further refined, breaks like glass and thus offers the ideal conditions for precise shooting at long distances.
