A successor to the MP5 submachine gun, the UMP is made using the latest in advanced polymers. Available in 9mm, and also chambered for more powerful cartridges (.45 ACP and .40 S&W), the UMP is a cost-effective, state-of-the-art weapon that offers the advantages of lightweight, low cost, uncompromising reliability, and modularity. Like all HK submachine guns, the UMP fires from the closed bolt position for accuracy, low felt recoil, and safe handling. Features & System Characteristics: Ambidextrous controls. Closed bolt firing. Eight molded-in hard points for accessory (Picatinny) rail attachment on the upper receiver. “Quick Connect” muzzle for fast and easy sound suppressor attachment without the need for muzzle threads. Bolt catch hold bolt rearward when last round is fired. Polymer construction reduces weight and eliminates surface corrosion. User replaceable barrel. Can be fired when the buttstock is in the folded position. Oversized trigger guard for easy operation while wearing gloves. Flip-up rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation with an Allen wrench. Available as a select-fire submachine gun or semi-automatic carbine. |
