The Heckler & Koch G36 is selective fire, short-stroke piston, rotating bolt assault rifle, made by Heckler & Koch as a replacement for the 7.62mm G3 battle rifle. It become standard rifle of German Army in 1996. It is used by over 30 countries in almost all modern wars. It has been licensed for local production in Saudi Arabia. The G36 employs a free-floating barrel and it is a selective fire 5.56mm assault rifle, firing from a closed rotary bolt. It can be fitted with under-barrel grenade launcher. |
