The barrel is the most exceptional piece of the PPS/50. The bored barrel-cover gives the carbine a military look. It includes a screw fixed base with a dovetail cutting edge front sight and a collapsing "V" leaf back sight movable for windage and height. The activity is self-loader, blowback type. Two force springs, situated behind the jolt, safeguard the right shutting. The delivery is bolted by a switch type security. The firearm can utilize three unique kinds of magazine : the drum magazine, the long prismatin magazine and the short kaleidoscopic magazine.
