Ed Brown Compact Varmint

A compact, super accurate varmint rifle. Light, compact, and easy to handle - but all the accuracy you want is still here. The #5 contour barrel offers the perfect balance of rigidity and weight to produce Varmint rifle accuracy at a Sporter type rifle weight. The stock is our own design and is very similar to a light weight benchrest rifle. The broad forend is slightly rounded on the bottom and is deeply undercut above to reduce weight.. The Compact Varmint is the perfect companion in your pickup, and is now offered in calibers large enough for deer, but still effective on varmints. Short and handy, but retaining all the accuracy you would expect from a top class varmint rifle. Ed Brown Custom controlled feed action with machined steel trigger guard and hinged floor plate. (223 Rem is push feed). Match grade, hand lapped and precision chambered Shilen barrel, stainless steel with black Gen III coating for superior rust protection. Hand-bedded McMillan fiberglass stock with full 1" thick Pachmayr Decel recoil pad.
