The Browning BAR Mk II LightWeight Battue was manufactured in Belgium and assembled in Portugal until 2002. It has an aircraft grade aluminum alloy receiver without engraving that resulted in a significant reduction in weight compared to previous models. It has removable trigger assembly with gold plated trigger, hinged floorplate with removable box magazine, dual action bars, self-cleaning gas operation, seven lug rotary bolt, ambidextrous crossbolt safety with an enlarged head, studs for detachable sling swivels and bolt lock release lever.
