The Right Gun at the Wrong Time: The 1858 Starr

​The two piece frame was held together by a knurled thumb screw located on the right side of the frame, between recoil shield and hammer. Another innovation was the lack of the cylinder rotation pin.

Unfortunately, towards the mid 1863, Mr Starr was forced to turn his genial revolver from double action, the STARR D.A. MODEL 1858.44 cal., into single action, still in.44 cal. He could then produce an efficient and affordable weapon, the STARR S.A. MODEL 1863 ARMY.44 cal.
