The Modern & Military Arms Association Ltd was formed in 1982 by a small group of firearms collectors and shooters with a particular interest in military type firearms, who wished to provide an arena for their safe use whilst giving the opportunity to evaluate the accuracy and range capabilities of these firearms, which were not specifically designed for target shooting.

The MMAA Ltd has an Annual Membership of about 100, most of whom fire with the Club on Saturday afternoons, all year round and Tuesday , afternoons from May to October. Naturally this is subject to weather conditions as the range is outdoor and open, there are no covered firing points.

We use the main range at Crabbe, St Mary (see location) which gives the opportunity to fire rifles at varying distances to a maximum of 600 yards. Handgun shooting is fired from 20 to 50 metres. The club runs competitions throughout the year, which are for specific calibres and / or types of firearms, so there is an opportunity to test the shooters skills and firearms accuracy in many different disciplines .
