Kilwell Sports Ltd is a privately owned company. Since 1933 Kilwell,  has been a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of fishing tackle, firearms and outdoor related products. As of 2013 these ranges of goods are now available online. 

A brief history

In 1933, John L. Wells and his fledgling company made a commitment to provide New Zealanders with the very finest fishing rods that could be manufactured. Today that commitment remains at Kilwell strengthened by technology, service and dedication.

From the modern, purpose built 45,000 sq. ft. plant in Rotorua New Zealand, some of the finest fishing rods available world wide are produced. Along with fishing rods, Kilwell Fibretube also manufactures an extensive range of tubular fibreglass, graphite and composite products used in a multitude of applications from recreational products through to industrial use. The Rod Craft division in Kilwell Fibretube manufactures a complete range of sport fishing rods of world class standard catering for every type of fishing style conceivable from delicate fly fishing rods to powerful saltwater game-fishing rods. The reputation of the products manufactured in both divisions is highly regarded and many products are exported around the world.

Kilwell Sports is the wholesale division in the business. We distribute a huge range of product for resale in retail outlets throughout the country as well as now selling online. In addition to marketing and distributing its own brands, Kilwell Sports represents an impressive list of leading brand fishing and hunting product manufacturers from around the world. These include Buck Knives, CZ firearms, Steyr Mannlicher, Kahles and Meopta optics, Winchester and Gamebore ammunition, TiCA fishing tackle, to name just a few.

Kilwell Sports and Kilwell Fibretube main headquarters is located in one of the country's most picturesque and popular tourist destinations - Rotorua City. The region boasts world-class trout fishing and is in close proximity to some of the country’s best wild deer and pig hunting territory. Kilwell Sports also has a passionate sales team of 5 reps on the road based in Auckland, Rotorua, Lower North Island, Christchurch and Invercargill. In house, we have 3 dedicated Customer Service representatives.
