Founded in 1975 It is a Public Company dependent, with legal personality under private law, under the Ministry of Defense through the Army Command. The company consists of five (05) production units located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Mage (RJ), Juiz de Fora (MG), Itajubá (MG) and Picket (SP). The company headquarters is installed on the army headquarters in Brasília (DF). The IMBEL manufactures weapons, ammunition, explosives and other important items and equipment for the areas of defense and security.
